Since 1978, St. Mary's Academy & College has grown into a large traditional Catholic community, numbering approximately 2,450 souls in 2003. Catholics from all over the world have chosen to make St. Mary's their home, drawn to this small town in rural Kansas by the schools and by the spiritual benefits of living in a Catholic community. They place themselves under the spiritual guidance of the priests of the Society of St. Pius X, following the spirit of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, defender of Catholic Tradition.
